About the role
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is seeking experienced law enforcement applicants, certified law enforcement applicants, and individuals currently attending a law enforcement academy. Learn more about the department and how to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform sworn law enforcement duties as assigned.
- Investigate crimes and assist in the apprehension of criminals.
- Provide security and protection to county facilities and personnel.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance when necessary.
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws.
- Participate in community policing initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- United States Citizen.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Sixty (60) credits of post high school education (associate degree level or higher) from an accredited university, college or technical school, preferably in criminal justice, police science, business or public administration, or the social sciences.
- Ability to possess a firearm.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Sworn law enforcement experience, eligible for certification as a law enforcement professional in the State of Wisconsin, or individuals currently attending a law enforcement academy.

- Pass background investigation.
- Pass physical ability testing.
- Pass polygraph examination.
- Pass psychological evaluation.
- Pass medical examination.
- Pass drug test.
