Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service within a patrol area and enforce laws by proactive patrolling and investigating crimes.
• Work under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

Requirements

• Meet the educational requirements or reciprocity standards of the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Board to become licensed as a peace officer according to Minnesota Rules 6700.0700;
• Possess a valid Minnesota POST license, eligibility, or reciprocity application;
• Possess a valid driver’s license;
• Ability to lawfully possess a firearm in the State of Minnesota.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Valid driver's license;
• POST Certified: Possesses a POST license or eligibility letter from the Minnesota Board of Peace Office Standards Training stating that you are eligible for a peace officer license.

Skills

• Ability to perform routine criminal investigation, law enforcement, and process serving tasks;
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $32.44 - $47.13 per hour.

Laterals

Experienced law enforcement professionals may qualify for higher starting pay, accelerated training, and increased vacation, sick and parental leave accruals.
