Job Description
A Deputy Sheriff is a sworn and certified law enforcement officer who provides courthouse and courtroom security, transportation of prisoners, and service of court orders and writs. Newly hired employees are paid their base salary to attend extensive training including off-site academy where they will learn all the skills and tools required to be successful in this role.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Current driver's license with acceptable driving history
- Complete an application including complete contact information for three references
- Manually input work history into application and attach a clear picture of driver's license
- Pass written exam and physical agility test
- Be able to read, write, hear, and understand English
- Be able to see both short distances (to read and write) and long distances (to view test video)

Pay
Base salary is $29.14 per hour. Benefits are only for full-time employees.
Schedule
Effective immediately, applicants may take the exam for this position a maximum of two (2) times per 12-month period.
