About the role

Join the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney and be a key player in the fight for justice! Handle significant cases, from misdemeanors to felonies, and work on trial preparation and sentencing.

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute felony, misdemeanor, or juvenile cases—from charging through trial and sentencing.
  • Co-chair preliminary hearings and felony trials.
  • Gradually take on cases independently as your competence grows.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least one year of related experience (training considered).
  • Admission to practice law in Idaho (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Idaho.
  • Committed to justice and eager to contribute to the community.
  • Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Willing to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call when necessary.
