The County of Maui is seeking outstanding and dedicated Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys that will represent our Community in criminal matters. Examples of Duties Required

  • Reviews complaints to identify ethical violations and legal issues
  • Prepares cases for trial
  • Performs trials
  • Provides direction to non-attorney staff
  • Maintains adequate case, file, and related records
  • Participates in training and professional development activities
  • Performs a number of other similar or related duties that are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Current Hawaii State Bar License
  • Strong oral and writing skills, and legal research ability are required
  • Seeking applicants for entry level positions as well as experienced litigators
  • Salary determined by years licensed

DEPUTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
The County of Maui, Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, seeks to fill position(s) at the entry to high experience level(s) as a EntDeputy Prosecuting Attorney. Applicants must have an active Hawaii State Bar license and be in good standing before the Hawaii Supreme Court, have strong oral and written communication skills, and legal research abilities. Applicants should possess excellent analytical ability, good judgment, and the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, outside agencies and community. Competitive salary commensurate with years of experience. Entry-level applicants start at $84,988 and top candidates licensed for nine years or more start at $140,252. Excellent benefit package and work environment.
