Deputy Program Manager with Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Apply program management skills to support many small programs for multiple program managers across the portfolio.
• May be responsible for one or more small programs as the primary program manager.
• Provide directions for the execution of multiple projects in support of submarines and related efforts at VTG.
• Lead a development team in an Agile environment, ensuring the team completes tasks on time and on budget.
• Assign tasks to engineering teams, set long and short-term project goals, negotiate with vendors and clients, ensure the project stays within time and budgetary restraints, and compile program briefings.
• Participate in cross-domain working groups to coordinate prototyping efforts, brief results to senior engineers and managers in government and industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant management or leadership experience.
• Experience with managing small to medium sized projects or teams.
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills.
• Outstanding program life cycle and system engineering skills.
• Strong technical background.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Articulate, excellent presentation skills.
• US Citizen with current SECRET Clearance.
• Successful completion of background check.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Agile software development methodology, JIRA.
• Software background.
• Experience with developing and tracking cost and schedule baselines for a project.
• PMP or similar certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management tool.

Pay

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $120,000-$145,000, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
