Deputy Program Manager-Federal Background Investigations

About the role
We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the Program Manager on a Background Investigative Services contract. This role involves maintaining availability to communicate with the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer’s Representative, coordinating manpower and resources, and ensuring quality control programs are implemented.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Program Manager in the PM's absence, or when the position is temporarily vacant.
- Carefully coordinate manpower and resources.
- Ensure quality control programs are implemented and enforced consistently.
- Manage and oversee administrative and daily operations related to a National Security Clearance Background Investigations Program.
- Represent the contractor in post-award and operational meetings as required.
- Facilitate effective communications and proactively identify and mitigate issues among contractor personnel and between the contractor and government stakeholders.
- Attend regular meetings with government stakeholders to discuss workload, performance, and emergent issues.
- Produce required contractual and programmatic reports and briefings.
- Implement and exercise quality control for contractor personnel to deliver services and products on schedule and within budget.
- Be responsible for contractor and personnel work output and products, and contract deliverables.
- Establish and enforce work performance standards.
- Coordinate with government program offices for work schedule assignments.
- Review and remediate work discrepancies.
- Supervise contractor personnel and employee staff.
Requirements
- Experience (Minimum): At least five (5) years of combined personnel security and background investigation experience at the state or federal level; and management experience demonstrating the ability to direct, execute, and control the performance of all work under a federal BPA or similar contract vehicle, with detailed knowledge of daily operations.
- Education (Minimum): Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- OR
- Experience (Minimum): At least seven (7) years of combined personnel security and background investigation experience at the state or federal level; and management experience demonstrating the ability to direct, execute, and control the performance of all work under a federal BPA or similar contract vehicle, with detailed knowledge of daily operations.
- Education (Minimum): Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
