About the role

The North American Liability team offers a wide range of liability insurance solutions, serving a diverse client list including manufacturers, hotels, retail, business services, and technology companies. The Deputy Product Development - Environmental Liability will support the Product Development strategy, driving innovation and execution of new product offerings and customized wordings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Development strategy for North American Liability
  • Develop, implement, and modify products (LoB specific or cross-line)
  • Coordinate Liability product-specific organizational matters with PCs, Regions, etc.
  • Ensure global knowledge sharing with regard to special products/enhancements and specific underwriting knowledge for Liability Products
  • Represent CUO Liability internally and externally to customers, brokers, the industry, and other organizations
  • Drive involvement of functional areas (e.g., other LoB teams, Claims, Legal and Distribution)
  • Support Liability-specific projects and task forces
  • Provide support for special products
  • Identify litigation trends, coverage trends, and market developments including market potentials and clients
  • Monitor new (legal) developments, coordinate and steer regional/country issues (e.g., liability and insurance law development)
  • Make suggestions for Underwriting authorities for special products to Head of Liability and sub-Lob heads
  • Enhance and refine underwriting of products during the introduction period (including claims monitoring, sales support and portfolio monitoring)

Requirements

Significant experience in drafting policy wording for environmental products; Demonstrable product development track record; Comprehensive technical knowledge of environmental products and coverages; Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and hazards relevant to Liability; Ability to analyze highly complex contracts and underwriting principles, identifying and resolving issues before they transpire; Ability to develop framework from product genesis to completion while communicating with key stakeholders; Ability to develop and meet Key Performance Indicators for Product Development in connection with portfolio; Excellent verbal and writing communications skills with an ability to build and foster relationships internally across the organization; Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred

Pay

The annualized base pay range for this role is $150,000 – $220,000.

Schedule

The role is full-time.
