About the role
The Town of Acton is seeking a Deputy Police Chief to lead the department's strategic direction, daily operations, and long-term success. Reporting directly to the Chief of Police, the Deputy Police Chief serves as the department's second-in-command and collaborates with the Town's leadership team.
Responsibilities

- Mentor staff
- Oversee critical projects
- Support the Chief in advancing organizational goals
- Ensure the highest standards of public service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology or related field (or the equivalent in training, experience or education)
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Police Administrator or Supervisor
- Must be able to obtain certification from the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee
- Must be a non-smoker according to MGL Ch 41 S.101A, Prohibition of Tobacco Products
Qualifications
- Experience with grant writing, collective bargaining, emergency planning, training, and budget preparation & maintenance are all highly desirable

Benefits
The Acton Police Department offers a full-time, benefited, non-union position with a salary range of $126k - $142k annually.
