Deputy Juvenile Facility Manager

Responsibilities
- Assists in daily operations of a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) facility under direction of the Juvenile Facility Manager or Administrative Coordinator with regards to treatment and business responsibilities.
- Assists in the daily operations of the program and provides daily supervision to assigned staff.
- Recommends personnel actions including disciplinary actions.
- Administers all aspects of the facility in the absence of the Juvenile Facility Manager or Administrative Coordinator.
- Interprets and enforces policies and procedures.
- Coordinates American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation process.
- Consults with attorneys, parents, departmental personnel, and other interested parties as they relate to services provided to juveniles in DJJ care.
- May be required to restrain out-of-control juveniles.

Requirements
Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or Skills: Two years of experience in public or business administration.
- Substitute Education for Experience: None
- Substitute Experience for Education: Experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12-21) in a community setting, residential, correctional, group home, detention, military, or day treatment program will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Two years of this experience must have been as a supervisor in a community setting, residential, correctional, group home, detention, military, or day treatment program.
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months.

Pay
Salary: $61,343.52 - $92,015.04 Annually (Pay Grade 17)
