About the role
The Security System Group (SO-SS) supports access control, intrusion detection, and assessment systems at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
Responsibilities
- Supports the group leader in managing daily activities involving all systems.
- Maintains a budget of ~$60M for direct and indirect funding.
- Manages security system projects involving various Laboratory groups.
- Ensures projects meet scope, schedule, and cost; oversees multiple contracts with vendors.
- Maintains safety standards and adherence to procedures.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience in project management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong record of personnel development.
- Thorough knowledge of Federal orders and complex problem-solving.
- Strategic planning and process improvement experience.
- Experience with maintenance policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Desired qualifications include basic knowledge of electronic and networking systems, experience managing large budgets, and experience with architectural and mechanical drawings.
