About the role

Mission of the Office of the Denver District Attorney: to protect the community, to seek equal justice for all, and to improve the quality and fairness of criminal justice on behalf of the people of Colorado. The office achieves this through excellence in investigating and prosecuting crime, supporting victims and families, working with the community to prevent crime, and providing fair alternatives to incarceration where appropriate. The Denver DA’s Office has immediate openings for Deputy District Attorney positions.

Responsibilities

• Appear in County and District Courts handling all stages of prosecution.
• Manage a caseload, prepare for hearings and trials.
• Partner with community agencies, the Denver Police Department, and other criminal justice agencies to serve survivors and build criminal cases.
• Assist victims of crime and their families through the criminal justice system.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the District Attorney.

Requirements

• Possess a license to practice law in Colorado from the Colorado Supreme Court by the date of hire, or a reasonable expectation of becoming licensed by that date (per C.R.C.P. 203.2, 203.3, 203.4 and 205.6).
• Keep licenses and certifications current as a condition of employment.
• Demonstrate a firm commitment to advancing justice and maintaining the highest ethical standards at all times.

Pay

• Senior Deputy District Attorney: $169,873 – $180,324 per year (≥10 years relevant experience).
• Associate Deputy District Attorney: $119,763 – $136,069 per year (≥5 years relevant experience).
• Deputy District Attorney (Entry Level): $95,585 – $104,615 per year (up to 5 years relevant experience).
• Overall advertised salary range: $95,585.00 – $180,324.00 per year.
