About the role
The Deputy Director of Public Works oversees the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring efficient service delivery to the community. This role requires strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of public works management.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the Public Works Department including maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service delivery and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and support.
- Manage a team of Public Works staff and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public works management.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Strong knowledge of public works policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
