About the role
The Kings County District Attorney’s Office (KCDA) seeks a Deputy Director for its Human Resources Unit/Employee Services. This role requires a strong background in HR management, preferably with City experience.
Responsibilities
- Represent KCDA at City government meetings.
- Facilitate relationships with oversight agencies like DCAS, OLR, OPA, and labor unions.
- Oversee all recruitment processes, including job postings and civil service hiring pools.
- Manage the interview and selection process using NYCAPS e-hire platform Smart Recruiter.
- Ensure accurate NYCAPS data entry for personnel transactions.
- Onboard new employees, interns, consultants, volunteers, and 211/212 candidates.
- Organize and manage performance management training for legal and non-legal staff.
- Manage job classifications, draft justification documents, and attend classification hearings.
- Facilitate meetings and troubleshoot HR-related issues.
- Perform other related HR management tasks as needed.
Requirements
- A master's degree from an accredited institution with at least ten (10) years of HR management experience - City experience preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with at least fifteen (15) years of HR management experience - City experience preferred.
- Possession of HR and EEO certifications and versatility in the areas.
Preferred Skills
- Structured interviewing knowledge.
- Knowledge of Civil Service laws and policies.
- Experience interfacing with unions.
- Knowledge of City personnel rules, policies, and processes.
Benefits
Salary range: $118,873.00 – $145,000.00

Full-time position
