Deputy Director, Ending Infectious Diseases

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Ending Infectious Diseases sub-team to drive strategies for eradicating polio and malaria by 2045
  • Collaborate with other sub-teams to align efforts toward the foundation's broader health goals
  • Synthesize complex evidence to inform investment and research priorities in infectious disease control
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture while ensuring alignment with EGH's objectives
  • Serve as a thought leader to cultivate partnerships and influence in the global health sector
  • Manage relationships with key Programs Strategy Teams and develop a deep understanding of their strategies
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects to optimize the impact of the EGH contributions

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of expertise in infectious diseases (malaria and/or polio preferred), immunization, and diagnostics
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with a focus on managing senior-level teams and strategy accountability
  • Experience in leading research and learning initiatives using mixed-methods research and evidence synthesis
  • Proven ability to translate technical insights into actionable policy recommendations
  • Strong background in building partnerships with governments, philanthropic organizations, and global health stakeholders
  • Experience working in low- and middle-income countries, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa

Pay

$262,200 – $406,400 annually
