About the role
Under the direct authority of the Chief Probation Officer, the deputy bailiff is responsible for the security of the Municipal Court.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the security of the Municipal Court
- Operate motor vehicle
- Operate electronic monitoring equipment
- Handle firearm
- Use pepper spray
- Operate radio
- Use personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, printer, calculator
- Utilize other standard office equipment
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED)
- Minimum of six (6) months of security or bailiff experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy
- Hold weapons and L.E.A.D.S. certifications, or be able to obtain them within the required period
