Job Summary
This attorney position represents the State of Nevada in post-conviction proceedings in federal and state court.
About the Role
The position requires a law degree and active Nevada bar membership or eligibility for limited practice certification. A valid state driver’s license is required at the time of appointment. Preference is given to candidates with recent or current experience in reviewing cases and drafting appellate briefs and oral arguments. A working knowledge of federal and state criminal/habeas statutes, rules of evidence, local court rules, and appellate procedure is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal briefs
- Conduct legal research
- Present oral arguments in federal and state trial and appellate courts
Requirements
- Graduation from accredited law school
- Licensed in Nevada or eligible for limited practice certification
- Valid state driver’s license at time of appointment
