About the role
The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking a highly motivated and committed Deputy Attorney General to join the Environmental Unit in New Castle County or Kent County.
Responsibilities
- Enforce environmental laws and permit violations through administrative actions and litigation
- Defend DNREC before administrative boards and Delaware Courts
- Review documents, permits and contracts
- Review legislation and regulations
- Advise in areas such as human relations and risk management
Requirements
- Membership in the Delaware Bar is required as a condition of continued employment
- Relevant experience in litigation and administrative law (including regulatory practice)
- Background in natural resources law and environmental issues
Qualifications
- Legal education and membership in the Delaware Bar
- Experience in environmental law and regulation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule
Works within the Department of Justice's Environmental Unit and serves as one of the DAGs assigned to represent the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC).
