About the role
The Depot Supervisor manages day-to-day operations of a bread distribution depot. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring timely deliveries, managing inventory, and maintaining depot cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Supervise depot staff, including drivers, loaders, and warehouse personnel.
- Oversee loading and unloading of bread products to ensure accuracy and freshness.
- Manage depot inventory levels and coordinate returns, damages, and stale reporting.
- Ensure all routes depart on time with correct product and paperwork.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure the depot is clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- Communicate with Market Managers, Sales, and corporate teams about orders and delivery updates.
- Monitor and maintain vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Lead by example in safety practices and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Train new depot employees on procedures, safety expectations, and company values.
- Assist with route coverage or product deliveries as needed.
- Complete required reports, paperwork, and communication logs in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of experience in warehouse, transportation, or route operations.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Experience in food or bread distribution.
- Familiarity with DSD (Direct Store Delivery) operations.
- Forklift certification preferred.

Schedule
