About the role

The Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for leading the bank's deposit operations function, ensuring that all deposit-related processes are accurate, efficient, compliant, and customer-focused. This role combines operational leadership, process improvement, regulatory compliance, team management, and strategic planning to support both customers and internal employees.

Responsibilities

  • Shape operations strategy and drive process improvements, identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce risk.
  • Implement best practices and automation solutions to optimize workflows while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations for check clearing, ACH processing, transaction processing, debit card operations, remote deposit capture, and reconciliation within the required timeframes and troubleshoot item processing issues.
  • Develop plans and objectives to ensure that deposit operational functions deliver a high standard of service to customers and employees.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technological developments as related to areas of responsibility.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers involved in deposit services, including negotiating contracts, monitoring service levels, and ensuring compliance with agreements.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for deposit services staff to enhance their skills.
  • Manage various special projects assigned to the operational area as delegated by management.
  • Implements and maintains established department and Bank policies, procedures and objectives and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to review and enhance deposit procedures and services and ensure timely implementation of product updates and enhancements.
  • Establish rapport while managing escalated and complex customer issues and ensuring high quality customer service.
  • Serve as the bank’s deposit operations expert, providing guidance and support on deposit related products, services, and procedures.
  • Exhibits superior customer service as a Lincoln Federal Savings Bank team member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, required.
  • Several years of experience in deposit operations or retail banking, with a strong understanding of retail banking, deposit products, and services.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, with demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Experience with process improvement and operations efficiency initiatives.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to deposit accounts.
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and senior management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
