Responsibilities
- Support the O&M Network Engineer in Pre-Installation, on site Deployment and go-live testing.
- Prepare and perform on-site network surveys at customer sites.
- Participate in the infrastructure configuration and testing activities prior to deployment.
- Directly involved in the hands-on implementation at customer site.
- Provide documentation and revisions of each deployment.
- Provide feedback to the O&M Network Engineer for future deployment improvements.
Requirements
- Detail oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to present complex and technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Able to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures.
- Deployment of network equipment and technology, with working knowledge in network device, configuration, able use device command line interfaces (CLI) and make configuration changes as needed.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS and Azure, with IL-2 or higher experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment and troubleshooting different communication circuit types.
- Understanding of layer 1 technologies and their capabilities and limitations, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits to include CPE, Telco & Demark, etc.
- Experience in creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
- System configuration based on DoD security policy and guideline.
- Candidates are expected to configure, troubleshoot and manage network security across a multi-enclave environment.
- Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls and Security and Encryption appliances.
- Experience with networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS).
- Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Field AND 5+ years working experience in a networking role OR 10+ Years work experience in a networking role with a high school diploma / GED.
- Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
- DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
- Ability to identify cable colors, markings or labels.
