About the role

The Electrical Engineer II is an experienced-level position performing routine to moderately complex engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance.
  • Prepare product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
  • Design product and acceptance equipment; develop measurement methods, acquire, and designate tooling, cables, laboratory, and other equipment to support product acceptance.
  • Develop test procedures and perform routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability.
  • Conduct audits, analyze processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and establish quality levels and trends.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve moderately complex development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, make recommendations for, and initiate improvements for products.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited university in Engineering or Physics.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, if required, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (U.S. citizenship required; dual citizenship may affect clearance eligibility).

Skills

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
  • Established technical methodologies for routine engineering projects.
  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) concepts.
