Relocation assistance may be available. This role requires an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance. Must be able to meet medical requirements, pass a physical for worldwide travel, and maintain a valid U.S. passport. Travel is required (25% of the time).
About the Role
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Deployable Network Communications professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Product Support organization at Edwards AFB, CA. This position may be filled at either the Principal or standard Deployable Network Communications level.
Responsibilities
- Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
- Propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
- Prepare or ensure appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
- Provide regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment.
- Design network or portions of networks, including selection of hardware and software packages.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call support 24/7/365.
- Must be able to accept customer-furnished quarters for up to 90 days away from the primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Must complete training and receive initial qualification within 180 days and full qualification within 365 days as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
Principal Deployable Network Communications:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree and 5 years of relevant Network Communications experience or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Master's of Science Degree and 3 years of relevant Network Communications experience.
Deployable Network Communications:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree and 2 years of relevant Network Communications experience or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Master's of Science Degree and 0 years of relevant Network Communications experience.

Pay
Principal Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 – $155,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 – $125,200.00
The above salary ranges represent general guidelines. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
