Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 3 to join our diverse team of professionals at Palmdale, CA. You will perform minor structural repairs and modifications, troubleshoot, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems. The role includes diagnosing malfunctions, performing maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. You will fabricate, install, and test installation, routing, clamping, and wiring harnesses, and read wiring diagrams and blueprints.

You may receive additional training and be cross-utilized into aircraft low observable maintenance to fulfill daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Low Observable tasks include repair of composite or metallic structures, sanding, stripping, testing, masking, and other preparation tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience in the Aviation and Aerospace industry.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within 365 days.
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Willingness to accept customer-furnished quarters for up to 180 days within a rolling year away from the primary work location.
  • Willingness to perform required work in Palmdale, CA, and other locations as determined by business needs.
  • Willingness to travel 180 days in a rolling year.
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and support on-call status (24/7/365).
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work, including bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aviation and Aerospace Industry operational experience.

Pay

The primary salary range for this position is $66,600.00 - $111,000.00. The actual base salary offer considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
