Essential Functions
- Read and understand blueprints
- Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
- Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
- Perform part-fitting operations: filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming
- Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
- Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure
- Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
- Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
Basic Qualifications
- A High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
- The ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance
- To successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs
- The ability to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications
- A current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools (Drills, grinders, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, tape measures, scales, micrometers, dial calipers, etc.)
- The ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures
- Experience working to electronic or written instructions
- The ability to read engineering drawings
