As a Departmental Finance Manager II, you'll manage accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, control financial resources, communicate financial results to management, develop and implement financial policies, evaluate program accomplishments, and advise executive management on financial matters.

Responsibilities

• Shape financial strategy by developing short- and long-term financial plans that support organizational priorities and long-term sustainability.
• Lead the budget process from planning through implementation, helping translate departmental priorities into sound financial decisions.
• Advise executive leadership by turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Drive smart resource management, identifying financial trends, risks, and opportunities and recommending solutions that support evolving priorities.
• Oversee financial operations including budgeting, accounting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, revenue, and fiscal management.
• Strengthen financial stewardship by championing effective internal controls, accountability, compliance, and responsible use of public resources.
• Lead through change and complexity, navigating evolving legislation, funding requirements, financial challenges, and organizational priorities.
• Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve financial systems, reduce costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Build and inspire high-performing teams by developing financial professionals and supervisors and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
• Partner across the organization with executives, program leaders, and stakeholders to connect financial resources with mission-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

You qualify if you meet one of the following paths:

OPTION I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or Public Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a closely related field and two (2) years of public sector experience supervising administrative or management analysts responsible for the analysis, preparation and ongoing administration of a departmental or organizational budget, accounting, fiscal or auditing program.

OPTION II: Four (4) years of public sector experience supervising administrative or management analysts responsible for the analysis, preparation and ongoing administration of a departmental or organizational budget, accounting, fiscal or auditing program.

Pay

Salary: $132,009.36 - $205,301.76 annually
