About the Role

The Michigan Department of Treasury is seeking a Continuous Improvement Analyst to support strategic initiatives, enhance employee engagement, and lead process improvement efforts across the department. Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement events to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Develop, track, and analyze metrics to identify trends, measure impact, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with teams to interpret employee engagement survey results and implement strategies that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and priorities.
  • Provide guidance and training on continuous improvement tools, techniques, and best practices to build internal capacity.
  • Partner with teams across Treasury to identify opportunities for improvement and support implementation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating process improvement initiatives using a proven methodology.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing and interpreting metrics.
  • Familiarity with employee engagement strategies and tools (e.g., survey analysis, action planning).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across teams.

Education and Experience

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major is required. Professional experience is considered post-bachelor's degree.

  • Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of professional experience is required.
  • Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Alternate education and experience: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement. Military experience may qualify in lieu of the required education; provide your DD214 or other official military documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • All work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you reside outside Michigan, you must commute to Michigan for the responsibilities of this position.
  • This position is eligible for hybrid remote work: remote on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays; onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. A secure, private workspace with sufficient internet access (minimum 25 Mbps download, 5 Mbps upload) is required. Remote work arrangements are subject to management approval and may be adjusted or discontinued.
  • Attach a cover letter, detailed resume, and a copy of your official college transcript(s) to your application. Official transcripts must include the college/university name and address, degree conferred and date granted, coursework completed, and the Registrar's signature/seal. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
