About the role
The unit secretary performs a wide range of secretarial duties and coordinates department procedures to ensure professional and efficient operation of the Infusion Department. Duties include answering clinic phones, retrieving messages and answering calls promptly, scheduling patient infusion appointments, and checking in patients for their appointments.
Responsibilities
- Answering clinic phones and retrieving messages
- Scheduling patient infusion appointments
- Checking in patients for their appointments
- Greeting and receiving visitors
- Responding to needs of patients and family members
- Collaborating with health care team members and other departments
- Greeting and receiving visitors
- Working proactively to maintain the efficient operation of the unit
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience in a medical setting 2-3 years preferred
- Prior experience with Epic 1-2 years preferred
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Licenses and Credentials: Experience in a medical setting, prior experience with Epic
Skills
- Proficient with using a computer and a range of computer applications; including Microsoft Office
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and orderliness in performing work assignments with a strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and creative in crafting new approaches to solve problems
- Diffuses potentially volatile situations in a skillful and proficient manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of providers, patients, visitors, and hospital staff
- Adept time management skills; prioritizes urgency and meets fast-approaching deadlines in a sometimes challenging environment
- Displays professional verbal and written communication skills with patients, providers, and staff
- Flexible and adaptable to the evolving nature of the outpatient clinic

Pay
$19.30 - $28.68/Hourly
Schedule
20 hour role, 10 hour Saturdays with 10 hours during the week (and eventually could be Sundays)
