About the role

The Department of Nursing at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for Teaching Associate (Clinical) positions. These positions are for graduate nursing students who work part-time to gain practical teaching experience while completing their graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, laboratory, simulation, and/or classroom instruction for undergraduate nursing students under the supervision of a faculty member (course lead).
• Evaluate student performance and administer examinations as assigned.
• Collaborate with faculty and clinical agency personnel to support student learning.
• Maintain compliance with CSUSB, California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), and clinical agency policies and procedures.
• Perform other related instructional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or admitted to CSUSB Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
• Current, active, and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approval as assistant instructor to serve as a clinical instructor at the time of appointment.
• At least one year of continuous direct patient care experience as a registered nurse within the last five years (or as required by the California BRN).
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and community partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching, clinical instruction, precepting, or mentoring experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies, such as Canvas.
