About the role

The Mathematics Department at California State University, San Bernardino is seeking part-time lecturer applications from a diverse group of qualified individuals. The department is seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach Quantitative Reasoning, Mathematics for Educators or selected 2000-level courses at the San Bernardino Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Mathematics.
  • Work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Facilitate diverse student groups using active learning pedagogical practices.
  • Prepare and/or experience in K-12 mathematics education.
  • Familiarity with the California Common Core State Standards.

Requirements

  • Earned Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or the equivalent.
  • Experience as an instructor of record in college level mathematics.
  • Experience facilitating diverse student groups using active learning pedagogical practices.
  • Preferably, experience in K-12 mathematics education and thorough familiarity with the California Common Core State Standards.

  • Availability to teach at the Palm Desert or San Bernardino Campus.

Pay

  • Lecturer A (Range 2): $5,507 – $6,677
  • Lecturer B (Range 3): $6,221 – $13,224
  • Lecturer C (Range 4): $6,825 – $14,523
  • Lecturer D (Range 5): $8,593 – $15,211

Schedule

  • Positions are temporary and staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis.
  • Applicants are recommended to submit their application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions.
