About the role
The Department of Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a pain medicine board eligible/board certified physician to join the Emory University Hospital Midtown Pain Division.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients in clinic for chronic pain of varying etiologies, including but not limited to chronic low back pain, neuropathy, cancer-related pain, headaches and facial pain, and fibromyalgia.
- Perform interventional procedures for chronic pain at the ambulatory surgery center and operating room.
- Provide perioperative nerve blocks for the operating room, including but not limited to thoracic epidural catheter placement, brachial plexus blocks, low extremity nerve blocks, and truncal blocks.
- Inpatient consults for acute pain.
- Teaching, via didactics and/or during patient care, of anesthesiology residents and pain management fellows.
Requirements
Knowledge of management of acute pain in hospitalized patients with chronic pain is desired.
Candidate must have:
- M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
- Eligible to apply for a medical license in the state of Georgia.
- American Board of Anesthesiology board certified/eligible preferred.
