Department Manager Starbucks

About the role

Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Directs and controls the operation of the Starbucks kiosk to achieve sales and profit objectives. As a primary contact for customers, the Starbucks Department Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
• Speaks with customers to resolve problems with sales, dissatisfaction of service, or other problems related to the operation of the department.
• Trains, schedules, and supervises barista workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
• Provides financial reporting to Store Manager and Field Supervisor.
• Ensures product quality.
• Changes signs and prices as directed by merchandising.
• Writes order in the order guidebook and enters into computer.
• Checks order for completeness upon arrival.
• Brews coffee, tea, and chocolate.
• Operates electronic cash register to total customers’ final bill.
• Receives payment for customer purchase and counts back correct change.
• Maintains cleanliness of coffee service area of the store.
• Sets up and maintains displays in coffee area.
• Replaces stock in preparation area from supply area.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.

Qualifications

Desired: Prior management experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Barista staff.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $28.15 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
