The Department Manager role supports either the service side of our stores or the backroom product flow function (production).

About the role

This multi-faceted role is part of Savers, an international thrift retailer. The mission is to champion reuse and inspire a future where secondhand is second nature. Savers supplies its stores with gently-used, one-of-a-kind items donated by the community to local nonprofit organizations. These items are purchased directly from nonprofit partners, diverting billions of pounds of used items from landfills and onto store racks and shelves for reuse.

Responsibilities

  • Support store operations and customer service
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure smooth product flow
  • Collaborate with store teams to improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Train and mentor team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of retail management experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Experience with inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of retail operations and best practices
  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental impact
