Department Manager

The role involves leading shifts, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience, and may include overseeing specific departments such as Guest Service, Kitchen, or People.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts weekly, ensuring fast, accurate, and friendly customer service.
• Manage assigned systems (e.g., Training, Food Safety, Inventory Management), set goals, delegate tasks, follow up, and report results.
• Guest Service Department: ensure crew and managers deliver a great customer experience, execute sales promotions, train service staff, and keep Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive‑Thru areas organized.
• Kitchen Department: ensure high‑quality, fast food delivery, maintain food safety, control food cost, and train kitchen staff on production procedures, including new menu items.
• People Department: hire qualified crew, provide thorough training, schedule staff to meet sales and profit goals, onboard new crew, and recognize and motivate employees.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience preferred, ideally in restaurant, retail, or hospitality.
• Positive team player with flexible schedule and a passion for a fast‑paced environment.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Pay

• New Jersey: $15.49‑$19.00 per hour.

This position is with an independently owned and operated franchisee that holds a license to use McDonald’s branding and products. The franchisee, not McDonald’s USA, is the sole employer and is responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.
