Department Manager

McDonald’s Restaurants are driven by a team of leaders that include Shift Managers, Department Managers, and General Managers. We have an outstanding opportunity for you at one of our 11 locally owned and operated McDonald's restaurants.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent operations in Quality, Service, and Cleanliness throughout each shift without supervision.
• Manage Restaurant Controls such as labor cost, inventory, and cash procedures on a daily basis.
• Follow and enforce all restaurant safety and security policies and procedures.
• Coach and follow-up on crew to ensure excellent operations.
• Assist in continuing growth and development of employees inside the restaurant.
• Support the General Manager with setting and achieving store goals.
• Successfully manage a department such as Kitchen, People, or Guest Services.
• Create and complete goals for individual departments.
• Assist with quality hiring, staffing, and retention.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Guest Service Department Manager:
  • Ensure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience.
  • Oversee sales promotions to ensure they are executed well.
  • Train all service staff in service procedures.
  • Organize Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru areas for optimal service.
• Kitchen Department Manager:
  • Ensure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers quickly.
  • Maintain food safety standards.
  • Control food costs.
  • Train kitchen staff in production procedures, including new menu items.
• People Department Manager:
  • Ensure the restaurant hires qualified crew and trains them well.
  • Schedule staff to meet restaurant sales and profit goals.
  • Help Crew get off to a good start and stay recognized and motivated.

Requirements

• Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be 18 years or older.
