About the role
This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery, overseeing the inspection process of customer products for assigned tables.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the inspection process and inspection of customer products for assigned tables
- Lead by example, maintain organization, and practice good housekeeping in all facility areas
- Ensure all employees work safely and comply with company health and safety policies
- Report accidents or incidents immediately to a supervisor
- Coordinate shift start activities (table requirements, paperwork, and other duties)
- Ensure appropriate tools and materials are available for job completion
- Provide on-the-job training for new work instructions when applicable
- Be accountable for all personnel assigned to specific jobs
- Provide input to Onsite Manager regarding completion of objectives and tasks
- Report policy or procedure violations to Onsite Manager
- Participate in and comply with all health and safety initiatives
- Interact with customers daily/weekly/monthly to ensure satisfaction
- Ensure proper and accurate documentation and paperwork submission
- Maintain availability of tool kits (laptop/printer/tools), certification stickers, required PPE, and materials
- Comply with all customer and tk regulations and work rules
- Maintain customer site badge access where required
- Perform cycle time studies to assist in quoting new jobs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a team lead or supervisor
- Strong leadership and multitasking ability
- Ability to manage a team of up to 15 people
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work days, afternoons, nights, overtime, and weekend shifts
- Reliable attendance is essential
- Experience in automotive or industrial settings is an asset (willing to train the right person)
- Comfortable working with scanners and tablets for data keeping and time entries
- Previous professional interactions with customers and/or vendors
- Must read, write, and speak basic English
- Computer literate, able to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email software
- Safety mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience
- Understanding of measurement units and tolerancing; ability to train others in this area
