Department Coordinator - Surgery (Ground Floor)

About the role

This position coordinates the nursing activities between multiple service areas of a department. In the absence of the Director, may assume twenty-four (24) hour nursing responsibility for the department. May work with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing activities between multiple service areas of a department.
• Assumes twenty-four (24) hour nursing responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director.
• Works with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Four (4) years of experience in nursing, with minimum of two (2) years in area of specialty.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinate diversified and multiple activities, and make appropriate clinical and managerial decisions.
• Must possess advanced problem solving skills.
• Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment.
• Certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Preferred: Two (2) years of Call Center/Telecommunications experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
