Department Chair of Nursing
Job Responsibilities
Provides leadership, management, planning, and coordination for enrollment, instruction, student advisement, recruitment, retention, marketing, and the provision of services to the College and community.
Reports directly to the Dean of Nursing and collaborates closely to support the strategic goals and operational needs of the Nursing Division.
Responsible for the didactic, laboratory, and clinical activities necessary to implement the Nursing curriculum, including curriculum and instructional development, assessment functions related to program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes, and ongoing program effectiveness.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- Faculty teaching associate degree courses not designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree: must possess a bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline or an associate degree with demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
- Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
- A candidate must have an active, unencumbered South Carolina RN license.
- A candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years of clinical RN experience.
- A candidate must have American Heart Association CPR Instructor certification.
- A candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of nursing educator experience.
