About the role

CommuniCare+OLE is a network of federally-qualified health centers offering comprehensive care, including medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use treatment, to more than 70,000 individuals. Services are provided in 17 sites across Napa, Solano, and Yolo Counties, with a focus on community health promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, prevent, and treat diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, the craniomaxillofacial area and the adjacent structures and their impact on the human body in conformance with clinical guidelines and evidence-based dentistry.
  • Provide all aspects of general dental services based on the organization’s scope of practice and ensure maximized access to care for patients while maintaining quality care.
  • Educate patients on treatment options including risks, alternatives, and benefits of specific treatments.
  • Achieve and maintain a high level of competency in clinical dentistry with the emphasis on pediatric dentistry, emergency dental treatment, restorative, extractions, fixed and removable prosthodontics, root canals, and prevention of oral disease.
  • Review medical and dental history past notes, and update patient records as needed.
  • Completes comprehensive documentation of patient dental records using best practices in a timely manner.
  • Provide appropriate written referrals, prescription, and treatment consent when necessary.
  • Educate and motivate individuals and their families towards prevention of oral disease by completing risks assessments and goal setting.
  • Follows workflows, procedures and policy to ensure efficient clinic flow and patient experience.
  • Consistently meets quality and production goals set for clinic.
  • Comply fully with all applicable federal, state, local, and dental clinic rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry, as well as those relating to personnel issues, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
  • Aid in the orientation and training of auxiliaries and other dental staff.
  • Attend Dental Staff Meetings And Any Other Required Meetings.
  • Cooperate fully in any risk management activity or investigation.
  • Assist in the ongoing development and implementation of performance-improvement initiatives to support organization and departmental goals.
  • Maintain a team approach to dentistry by assisting other dentists and staff as necessary to allow for efficiency, patient flow, and quality of dental care.
  • Participate and assist with the coordination outreach programs.
  • Participate in monthly peer review to provide constructive feedback to fellow dentists.

Requirements

  • Must have a DDS or DMD from an accredited school of dentistry or MSD and 1 year of clinical experience.
  • Experience/Lived Experience: 1 year of clinical experience preferred. Experience working with patients of all ages, with the ability to provide comprehensive dental care preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California.
  • Current CPR certification and DEA registration required.
  • Maintain CEUs as required for license renewal.

Pay

Annual Salary: $ 173,451.20 to $211,993.60 (Based on a 40 hour work week)
