Dentist (Part-Time)

About the role

Join Benevis as a Part-Time Associate Dentist in the Norfolk/Portsmouth area and support our mission to provide excellent dental care in the community. Help us create more smiles and memorable experiences for children and adults while working with a team that values teamwork and patient care. Our patient base is primarily children (70% or more), with up to 30% adults depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental services to patients with the support of your team.
• Participate in morning huddles, plan your day, and collaborate with your team.
• Work with a patient base primarily consisting of children (ages 3-21) and up to 30% adults.
• Utilize practice resources including DentaPro software, digital x-ray and Panorex units, and fiber-optic handpieces.
• Adhere to yearly OSHA, HIPAA, and Emergency Management training.
• Work with a team ratio of 1 hygienist, 1 hygiene assistant, and 2 dental assistants per provider.
• Manage an office flow of 10-12 operative patients and 20-25 hygiene patients on average.
• Handle a payor mix including state insurance plans, PPO, and out-of-network patients.

Qualifications

• DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
• Current, valid license to practice dentistry in the state of Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
• Other certifications as required (e.g., CPR, DEA).
• Nitrous Oxide certification (required for LA, MS, DC, TX, MA; verify if applicable for VA).
• Compassion and a strong desire to provide dental care to both children and adults.
