Dentist (Oral Surgeon)
About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Responsibilities
- Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
- Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions.
- Accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
- Accomplishes dental-alveolar surgical procedures, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants and biopsy procedures.
- Provide safe and effective anesthesia services in the outpatient setting including intravenous sedation/general anesthesia.
- Active participant in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Implant programs.
