Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide preventative, complex, and comprehensive dental care services.
- Examine patients, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribe and/or carry out appropriate treatments.
- Record patient-dentist transactions in the patients dental records.
- Complete referrals, data collection instruments, and other records or paperwork.
- Able to refer patients for specialty consultation or treatment if needed.
- Educate patients in oral health related conditions and prevention.
- Able to listen to concerns and suggestions and provide follow-up and feedback in a timely manner.
- Able to calm nervous patients.
- Able to respond effectively to patients of all ages.
- Train and evaluate assigned staff, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Exercise judgment and resolve problems independently.
- Potential for mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), when appropriate, is required.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks (i.e., Blood, Sharps, Needles), which requires following basic safety precautions.
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records PHI (Protected Health Information) Compliance.
- Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with CC Idaho, Joint Commission, OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Required Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl;
- Reach with hands and arms;
- Grasping/holding.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Depth perception, normal visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colors.
Work Environment
- Work in an office setting;
- The work may be stressful;
- The noise level is moderate;
- Exposed to x-ray equipment, nitrous oxide and oxygen gas tanks, dental chemical and pharmaceutical products and sterilization equipment.
