DENTIST (Community Family Clinic Dental) Blackfoot

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventative, complex, and comprehensive dental care services
  • Examine patients, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribe and/or carry out appropriate treatments
  • Record patient-dentist transactions in the patients dental records
  • Complete referrals, data collection instruments, and other records or paperwork
  • Refer patients for specialty consultation or treatment if needed
  • Educate patients in oral health related conditions and prevention
  • Listen to concerns and suggestions and provide follow-up and feedback in a timely manner
  • Calm nervous patients
  • Respond effectively to patients of all ages
  • Train and evaluate assigned staff
  • Remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Work independently, exercise judgment, and resolve problems
  • Follow OSHA protocols for potential mucous membrane or skin contact exposure to blood, fluids, or tissue; use personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate
  • Work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and follow basic safety precautions
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records (Protected Health Information - PHI)
  • Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with CC Idaho, Joint Commission, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations

Required Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Reach with hands and arms; grasping/holding
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Depth perception, normal visual acuity, and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to differentiate between colors

Work Environment

  • Work in an office setting; the work may be stressful
  • Moderate noise level
  • Exposed to x-ray equipment, nitrous oxide and oxygen gas tanks, dental chemical and pharmaceutical products, and sterilization equipment
