Responsibilities
- Takes dental histories of all patients upon admission in order to determine extent of care needed.
- Examines patients and administers tests so that dental malfunctions are discovered.
- Performs oral surgery as required in order to remedy dental malfunctions.
- Instructs dental assistants so that oral care can be provided to the patient.
- Orders laboratory examinations and analysis, x-rays, and specific medication so that complete dental care is provided.
- Keeps records and makes reports in order to document patients’ dental progress.
- Supervises qualified dental staff in order to deliver efficient service to patients.
Requirements
- Current licensure from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry to practice dentistry in Minnesota.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of general dentistry.
- Skill in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of dental diseases and injuries.
- Considerable knowledge of recent developments in the field of general dentistry and the characteristics and usages of modern drugs.
- Ability to establish and maintain a dental clinic environment.
- Ability to provide leadership in working with incarcerated individuals.
- Ability to supervise dental assistants and dental therapists in clinical dental practice.
Qualifications

- $70.85 - $104.35 / hourly.
- $147,934 - $217,882 / annually.
