Dental Supervisor

Position Summary

The Dental Supervisor position is full-time and available for our Battle Ground Dental Clinic. The role involves coordinating patient flow, supervising dental staff, and managing daily activities related to patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate patient scheduling to ensure efficient and productive patient flow.
• Triage patients, coordinate dental appointments, and manage the daily activities pertaining to patient flow.
• Communicate accurately with dental patients and provide clear instructions.
• Be knowledgeable of proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations, and supervise the dental assistants and receptionists.
• Communicate and guide dental providers, provide verbal counseling, and give disciplinary actions as needed.
• Participate in the training of new employees and dental trainees.
• Be knowledgeable about dental insurance programs and dental procedure codes, and be able to correct encounter forms or answer questions regarding treatment costs.
• Operate Misys systems or other Sea Mar Community Health Center computer systems.
• Complete Quality Improvement activities for the dental department and Sea Mar Community Health Centers.
• Keep provider production at goal expectations and maintain daily production reports.
• Build community relationships to support the dental clinic, including partnerships with organizations like Headstart and ECAP.
• Communicate with the Regional Coordinator and Dental Director on any issues clearly and effectively.

Education and/or Qualifications

• Current DA registration from Washington State required.
• Completed basic courses in dental assisting and office management at an academic institution, such as a Technical Institute or its equivalent.
• Minimum of three years working experience in a dental office may be considered in lieu of education.
• Current in Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or comply within one month of employment.
• Ability to communicate, read, write in English, and read and interpret common written materials about dentistry.
• Experience with EPIC desirable.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian is preferred but not required.
