Dental Receptionist
About the role
The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in Dentistry. Dental Clinic Staff are an integral part of that preparation, facilitating the interface between student providers and their patients within the clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Works with faculty, peers and supervisors to deliver customer service oriented and patient centered care within the DMD clinics.
- Checks patients in daily, confirming their contact information, current insurance and consent forms.
- Verifies insurance and details benefit coverage for patients when appropriate.
- Conducts financial transactions: accepts and posts payments, issues receipts, and balances cash drawer at end of day.
- Pursues payment of overdue balances.
- Creates, reviews and manages payment plans with patients.
- Affixes current appointments for all patients assigned to their 20-student team.
- Maintains the accuracy of Electronic Health Records.
- Answers the phone in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedules patient appointments as necessary.
- Answers questions regarding billing and payment plans, treatment plans and insurance coverage.
- Maintains HIPAA, OSHA and Infection Control compliance at all times.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and up to two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
