Dental Office Assistant
Bellaire Bay Dental Care in Naples, FL is seeking a full-time Dental Front Office Business Assistant to join our growing, patient-focused team. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, eager to learn, and thrives in a busy environment with a positive, can-do attitude.
About the Role
Join a 13-person team that thrives on collaboration, communication, and community in a fast-paced, easy-going, family atmosphere. Our office is located on Immokalee Rd. just east of Collier Blvd. in Naples, Florida.
- Greet and welcome patients to create a great first impression
- Manage front office duties: answering phones, checking mail and email, communicating with patients and insurance companies
- Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers
- File patient insurance claims, follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage
- Post insurance and patient payments, process accounts receivables
- Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients
- Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential
Requirements
- Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training required; must protect PHI and maintain data safeguards
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
- Tuberculosis (TB) test required for all new hires in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN)
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting
- 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable
- Dentrix or other dental software experience
