Dental Hygienist

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic dental hygienist who loves building and maintaining positive relationships with patients to join our team. Our dental hygienists perform a variety of preventative dental procedures and educate patients on oral hygiene. You'll be instrumental in helping patients achieve and maintain their best smiles by providing routine cleanings, oral health education, and counseling on good nutrition and its impact on oral health.

You’ll partner with dentists to provide the best treatment for patients in a team-oriented environment. We offer dedicated coaching and mentorship through our dental hygiene support team.

Responsibilities

• Provide oral hygiene services including thorough and gentle prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polish restorations, and application of cavity preventative agents such as fluorides and sealants
• Accurately chart and review patient dental history, update periodontal health records, document provided treatment, and handle patient records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide assistance as directed by the dentist
• Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by the state dental practice act
• Collaborate with front office staff to schedule appointments and build a robust recall program

Qualifications

• A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license
• CPR/BLS Certification
• Ability to manage time efficiently
• Excellent verbal communication skills to interact professionally with patients and staff
• Ability to travel between locations preferred
