About the role
The role involves managing inmates while providing high-quality dental care in an institutional setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform scaling, cleaning, and polishing of teeth.
- Render treatment to gums and tissue surrounding teeth.
- Develop and conduct a dental health education program, instructing inmates/residents in preventive dental techniques.
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed.
- Take impressions for study casts.
Requirements
- A minimum of 75% of time spent performing duties involving direct contact with inmates/residents.
Qualifications
- Licensed and/or certified as a dental hygienist in the state of employment.
- A valid driver's license is preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute.
- Minimum age requirement: At least 18 years old.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of institutional settings and inmate management.
