Pelican Park Dental Care is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join their team. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 2 PM.
About the role
Heartland Dental is the nation's largest dental support organization, supporting over 3,000 doctors in 39 states and the District of Columbia. Each Heartland Dental-supported office is unique to its community and patients. Supported doctors maintain full clinical autonomy and establish their own care philosophies. Hygienists in certain states work for a supported professional corporation (PC) and are not employed by Heartland Dental.
Responsibilities
- Give patients the time and care they need, deserve, and desire as an integral member of the patient care team.
- Participate in a robust Hygiene mentor program and receive ongoing education to enhance clinical skills.
- Access to an extensive network of mentors for one-on-one support and networking opportunities.

Requirements
- Current dental hygienist license in Louisiana and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required).
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening, and medical history documentation.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems.
- A desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet the needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of dental health.
- Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the office, doctor, and Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
- Availability to attend virtual training sessions periodically throughout the year.
Qualifications
- Open to new graduates or experienced hygienists.
- Experience with Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems.
- A desire to continue learning and growing clinical skills.
